Los Palacios y Villafranca was born as a result of the unification between Los Palacios and Villafranca de la Marisma in 1836. The fiestas in honour of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves (the town’s patron) are celebrated in the first week of August.
The town is situated 33km from the province capital. To get to Los Palacios y Villafranca from Seville city, take the A-66 (direction Cordoba) and then take salida 9A (direction Cadiz). When you’ve gone past Dos Hermanas follow the AP-4 and on taking exit 23 you’ll arrive at the town.
