Peñaflor was probably at its peak in terms of size and activity during the Roman era. Ruins of baths, aqueducts and a harbour on the River Guadalquivir have been found in the town. Visitors to the town should pass by the 18th century Iglesia de San Pedro that has some beautiful neoclassical altarpieces and gold work.
To get to Peñaflor from Seville city you take the A-4 (direction Cordoba) and exit at salida 506. Once you’ve crossed Lora del Rio, continue on the A-439 until you reach the destination.
