Valencina de la Concepción and the land around it was populated in prehistoric times. In its time, the town has also been part of a Roman settlement, an Arabic farm, and, once it was taken over by the Christians during the conquest, the lord of Seville was put in charge. Nowadays the town is undergoing a demographic expansion triggered by a moving population from the capital city.
