LOCATION AND GETTING THERE
Murcia's airport is 48km south-east of the city itself. It is located on the Mar Menor, near the town of San Javier, convenient for Cartagena and Torrevieja, as well as being just 30km from La Manga resort, across the on the southern side of the Mar Menor.
Public transport to Murcia San Javier airport is very limited, with three buses per day to Murcia, via Santiago de la Ribera (13.25, 16.30 and 19.00, Autocares La Inmaculada); the closest train station is 10km away.
A taxi to Murcia costs about 60 euros, Cartagena 40 euros, La Manga 60 euros and Torrevieja 40 euros.
A good option for transport is car hire, available at the airport.
