In Mijas the following events take place throughout the month.
Every summer Saturday evening from June to August. Horseracing at the Hipodromo Costa del Sol returns to Saturday evenings at 23.00 instead of the wintertime schedule of Sunday mornings. The races at the custom-built racetrack which is a popular spot with the general public as well as racing fans as there are restaurants and bars aplenty which are open all day even though the weekly racing lasts for around 3 hours. There are also courses for horsing knowledge, perfectioning and competition, jumping and individual or group lessons. Second and Fourth Wednesday (except mid July and August). TheLions Club of Mijas La Cala meets at the Mijas Playa Restaurant at 19.30. In Ojen
