The city of Granada provides multi-cultural delights for visitors and residents alike, and for students, its university has been an internationally recognised centre of learning since the 16th century. All need somewhere to stay and there is a wide range of apartments available in the many different barrios or districts. Let the rental agency know why you are visiting Granada so you can be offered an apartment in the area most suitable for your needs.
To soak up history, go to one of the old quarters of the city such as the Albaicín. This fascinating district of narrow, cobbled streets is on the hill opposite the Alhambra, the finest urban complex of Moorish architecture in Europe. Or choose Sacromonte, the nearby gypsy quarter, well known for its flamenco and cave houses. For more modern surroundings or larger complexes, La Chana is one of the most popular areas in the city.
Granada has many festivals and fiestas throughout the year, so make your booking early, especially during the International Festival of Music and Dance when, for three weeks from the end of June, the city is host to thousands of people from all over the world.
With the Sierra Nevada only 30 kilometres away from Granada, you can use your apartment in the city as a base for your skiing holiday, unless you want to stay up the mountain among the action.
