La Termica

The Térmica officially opened its doors on the 18th January 2013 and is an addition to Malaga's cultural scene.

Described as a "cultural epicenter", the Térmica is a central public creative space where local residents and visitors can learn and exchange creative ideas. They can do this through the many exhibitions and regular workshops, lectures and concerts held by the centre.

The historic building, which previously housed a hospital and orphanage, then a civic centre, boasts 13,000m² of floor space which is divided into classrooms, auditoriums, children's play areas and interaction and meeting zones.

The spacious building has a very different feel depending if you are there on a busy exhibition inauguration or on a quiet weekday afternoon.

THE 'COWORKERS' PROGRAM

La Térmica gives up-and-coming entrepreneurs and future creative professionals the opportunity and workspace to create and display their work to the public. This is done through the 'Coworkers' support program which offers artists workshop area with high-quality equipment at a reduced cost. It also aims to create long-lasting working relationships between creators, entrepreneurs, professionals and businesses.

WORKSHOP & ACTIVITIES PROGRAM

In addition, the centre has a busy educational programme with art and culture workshops running nearly every day for both children and adults, as well as a packed events schedule featuring art exhibitions of all varieties, live music, performances and conferences.
