Seville - The Macarena Walls

These walls date from 1135, the time of the Almoravides, and were strengthened by the Almohades in the 12th and 13th centuries.

The whole city was surrounded by walls until they were pulled down in the 19th century. The names of the gates appear on the map as memories of a fortified city. more>
