Marbella Business Institute
Founded in 1982 the principal aim of the Marbella
Business Institute, as its name implies, is to establish, maintain
and conduct an Institute for the association of persons interested
and actively involved in business in the area. Members meet for
lunch every month at a local restaurant, except during August, where
they have a variety of guest speakers who talk on all aspects of
business, law and administration in particular and other subjects
of general interest to members. The Institute also arranges and
organises the delivery of papers and seminars.
Other aims of the Institute include establishing
the importance of the foreign business community in the area. Fomenting
relations with local authorities, credit institutions, the judiciary,
etc. Creating a forum where English-speaking business people can
exchange ideas. Encouraging connections between this business community
and Spanish business on a national level. Resolving problems arising
through bureaucratic difficulties, government controls and changes
in legislation. Safeguarding the reputation of the foreign business
community in general, and of members of the Institute in particular
and organising social gatherings. Non-members are welcome to attend
providing they fax the Institute to advise name and company.
