Re: Can they tax you after death?

"My annoyance was that, even though it may have not been correct, I don't believe it would have been challenged, had someone not stupidly asked the tax office for advice. AND not advised me firstly what they were going to do as I might have swiftly moved to another Gestor lol" isn't this a...

Re: Headlamp adaptors for lhd car in uk

costakid - a 2016 car....Today's sailing to Plymouth is forecast to arrive at 16.00, so if that is the same next week I may be able to just drive to our granddaughter's house in Leeds in one go - she starts work early and has kids so I do not want to turn up after about 11pm! Anyone know roughly how...

When you reach the Isle of Man you go through a time portal that takes you back to the 1950s....was always so and ever will be lol.

Re: Headlamp adaptors for lhd car in uk

We booked through Direct Ferries who sent out emails about the Pont Aven troubles and their solution. If a Wednesday must have been to Plymouth all along - worth checking times though. First run by car, as only cabins were eight berth at least we should have room and no bunk bed! Will see how it com...

Re: Headlamp adaptors for lhd car in uk

Thanks Enrique - another worry off the list....I have booked a hotel near Aranda del Duero to break the journey from Murcia to Santander, and Brittany seem to have got the Pont Aven back on a revised schedule, running on three engines out of four, but on a shorter route (for them) to Plymouth. This ...

Headlamp adaptors for lhd car in uk

Taking my lhd Toyota to UK on ferry from Santander and getting blank looks trying to buy headlamp adaptors. Do Spanish drivers not drive to uk, ever, or just not bothger about headlamps dazzling UK drivers? Amazon.uk sell correct ones - but do not ship to Spain (!) and Amazon.es are very unclear abo...

Hotels near M5

Driving from Plymouth to Leeds soon, ferry times not stable so looking to break journey say around Bristol. Anyone recommend a reasonable priced hotel with secure parking and 24-hour reception/book-in, in case we land late at night?

Where on earth were you to get a 200 euro fine? Or was the meal a very Spanish one, taking hours and hours?

Re: Provisional Driving License

You will not get the temporary permit until DVLA have confirmed your UK licence, and you go to Trafico to hand in your UK one, so as in a lot of things, timing can be crucial - go and see the ancient relatives while you still have the plastic!

Re: Spanish residents getting married in UK

"you are also spanish tax residents..presuming its not a crown pension"
Even if it is a crown pension it must be declared on your Spanish tax return - though in a box marked "Exentar" (exempt) and it will slightly affect your tax bill.

Re: Gotele finish

We had local painters in to freshen up the walls - they used a compressor and a tank and basically sprayed on a mix of paint and yeso. They covered three floors in a day, including masking off. Much easier than trying to do it yourself, plus you will not have the kit!

Re: El Corte Ingláis (Granada) Parking

Certainly in Murcia, Cartagena and Malaga there are municipal car parks tied to the El Corte Ingles stores - what the financial arrangement is is anybody's guess - prices are reasonable for a city centre multi-storey.

Any small moto of advanced years is likely to have had many owners, none of them little old nuns, so will have been neglected and abused. Just look at a cross-section of those you see about the place!
