Re: Where to Buy?

They are very easy to grow if you can find some seeds. They hate hot weather so you can plant into the soil in October and thereafter for peas all the way through to end of May. As soon as it reaches above 20c they will die off. If you haven’t got the space in your garden, plant them in a bag of sus...

You wait until you see a 2m Montpelier when you disturb it! You will probably set a new 100m record!

Re: Snake on Bougainvillea

We have seen quite a few of these. Pretty little things and they move incredibly fast. When hiding they curl up into a very tight coil. Completely harmless.

Re: NIE Application or Renewal - process in July 2019

If you have the new “residence “ document, the old NIE is redundant. It’s all going to change for the better after Brexit when we will have photo cards again!

Re: NIE Application or Renewal - process in July 2019

and of course if you have moved you must get it updated to show your current address. Many “stand alone” NIEs were issued without the holders correct address and there is no reason to renew it if you move. The original NIE would have been linked to your passport number, which is probably now not th...

Re: Summer grass watering

When I had a lawn it was watered every day and it worked out at about 20 litres per M2. That was an "English" type of lawn. If yours is typically coarse Spanish grass it will probably be less. I could afford to be generous as our water is very cheap as it is from an agricultural supply. Sid

Re: Shingles Vaccination

No, but reoccurrence is quite rare. Shingles in the facial nerve is really nasty. You can lose the sight in that eye and also get Bells Palsy which causes one side of your face to droop and you can end up unable to close your eye. It happened to a close friend recently and he has never really recove...

Shingles Vaccination

If you don't live in the UK you are probably unaware that there is a vaccination against Shingles. Last year I enquired about a Pneumonia jab and a Shingles jab. The Pneumonia jab is available, either by buying it at the pharmacy, or if you are lucky, for free at the local health centre. I enquired ...

Re: Wireless internet provider in Granada city?

Yes, I changed from Radiocable when Movistar ran fibre all the way up our Campo road - to my immense surprise! Radiocable Fibra30 service never ever dropped below 30mb. Their service is excellent and they have plenty of English speaking staff. When I transfed back to Movistar, they could not have be...

Re: Wireless internet provider in Granada city?

That used to be the case, but Movistar now use a new router which has the cable connected directly. I know that for sure as I watched mine being installed and it took nearly two days to get the fibre cable into the house as it runs for about 70m underground through my garden. It would have been much...

Re: SmartDNSProxy not working

Its a Mitrastar - the new one with direct fibre connection. It's easy to change the DNS settings and it has been working fine until recently. I'm not going to try and fix it now as using SmartDNS in all devices is far more reliable.

Re: SmartDNSProxy not working

I'm getting somewhere. It seems that the problem lies in the router and it's ability to apply the Smart DNS settings to devices connected by wifi. If I change the individual devices to manual DNS it works fine. The reason I used the router originally was because not all devices allowed manual DNS. T...

Re: SmartDNSProxy not working

Thanks guys.. that gives me plenty of options to try. It was working fine until I changed my fibre contract. When I checked my DNS settings it seems that Movistar reset the DNS to their defaults. Smarty support are being very helpful and have asked for lots of screenshots so I will do that in the mo...

What DNS numbers are you both using? They just gave me 23.21.43.50 and 54.183.173.10

They don't work either!

Re: Speed camera map

That line doesn’t seem to have a working map. The DGT publish all the radars, fixed and mobile here http://www.dgt.es/images/INFORME_CINEMOMETROS_WEB_OK_20190628.pdf There also a very good app which shows you in real time where the mobile radars are actually sited at a given time and also shows wher...
