Re: Just bought a villa, now I need the internet

You’re right . If the OP starts a thread and doesn’t respond to other posts, it’s going to go no further.

Re: Satellite dish alignment BBC or C5

I have two satellites on my VU+ box. I907 and Astra 28. You use a splitter called a Diseq switch. To cables in and one cable out.

Re: El Gordo — How does it Work?

Clearly, more tickets mean a greater chance of winning. However, if you buy 20 smaller shares rather than one larger share, if you win, you just get a correspondingly smaller prize. I'm not sure you can "buy" anything smaller than a "Decimo". You would have to form a syndicate to...

The reality is that it is one of the biggest lotteries in the world but the prizes are comparatively low - but there are lots of them!

Re: Property in UK, Tax in Spain

The normal UK personal allowance applies in the UK and you will have to pay UK tax on the rental. You will also have to pay tax on the income in Spain, but any UK tax can be deducted from the Spanish tax. If the property is not rented continuously, then for the period that it is empty, you will have...

Re: Outlet selling E6000 Glue

No Sid i never said that. Lots of products including i phones are top quality but the Chinese stores in Spain do sell a lot of rubbish. Cheap made tools etc which do a job for light diy but last days if used by tradesmen. I would not buy any specialist products from them and definitely not a phone ...

It’s free postage on Amazon Spain on any order if you spend €20 up front for Amazon Prime for a year - plus lots of other benefits.

I agree. I use it a lot. I needed to write an email in German this morning. Just for a check I translated the German to Spanish and then from Spanish to Vietnamese and then back to English. It was word perfect!

Re: Satellite dish alignment BBC or C5

You are on a fringe area for the UK channels from Astra. The rest of Andalucia don’t get any signal at all unless they have a much bigger dish. There won’t be many members who have experience of your specific problem but our satellite expert will probably pop in and give you a better idea.

Have you tried getting a Movistar signal? Someone you know has probably got a Movistar phone which you could use to test it.

Yes the laws about renewing. As you say good luck trying to get your quote within the time frame Same law where you have to give them a months notice if you want to leave. (Used to be two) they have to give you two months notice if they are going to increase it. Anything in the law will be over-rid...

Almost certainly rubbish. It would have to be in the policy document for it to be true and by now someone would have posted an example on the Internet or Facebook.

Re: Passwords

The problems with passwords on "safe" sites like A.com is that most people use a limited number of passwords, sometimes even only one, and they use them on all their sites. That's where the problems can arise as hacking your A.com password leads to other sites which might be more important...

Re: Just bought a villa, now I need the internet

I think you will find that Movistar have improved their customer service recently by a huge amount. I called them last week about connecting us to fibre which they have recently installed up our road in the Campo. They said it should be available in about 3 weeks and gave us a special priority code ...
