Re: Improving my Wifi.

You can get a gaming router, connect it to the modem and place the gaming router at a good location (not too close to the unit you want to have opitmal speed with).

Re: Spanish woman attacked for Speaking Spanish in London

Being pro-muslim doesn't usually go hand in hand with tolerance though as Islam is a very intolerant religion. Roughly 81% of all violent antisemitic attacks in Germany are made by muslims for instance.

The homogenity of most islamic countries in the middle east are something like 98-99.9% islamic.

Re: Spanish woman attacked for Speaking Spanish in London

Even though Flexo made a mistake, it is obvious she wasn’t alone otherwise she would have been speaking Spanish to herself. Neither this or the fact whether she was a tourist or not is relevant. What is that supposed to mean, that I am supposed to keep quiet about friends who is being harassed in L...

I think this is a relevant reality check for both UK and Spanish residents: (immigrants being non-EU immigrants): https://i.imgur.com/xfEtEBE.png

Re: Spanish woman attacked for Speaking Spanish in London

I was also answering Flexos recent post if you read the context. BTW she wasn't a single woman on her own read the story again. I know more than 10 foreigners in London, several of them stating that they avoid using foreign language publicly while in London today, compared to not at all 10-20 years...

There has been plenty of instances lately where people have been verbally attacked for speaking foreign languages in the UK. I have heard people that doesn't read foreign newspapers in public anymore.

Re: Its cold!

Lost a bunch of trees, incl. two jacarandas, a fig tree and a bunch of palm seedlings. Combination I guess, cold, dark, too much rain. The gulf stream is the weakest it's been in 1600 years, which of course might influence but it is probably the opening of the polar jet winds that allows cold air to...

The British/ American home defense laws are quite unusual, in most countries you are liable even if a burglar falls on your stairs and hurts themselves while stealing your stuff.

Re: "Road Tax"

I think for new cars the due date is based on the registration date. For old cars it is usually May something but I don't think there is a late fee unless you pay more than one or two months too late.

Re: To instal aluminium guttering or not?

Plastic guttering is totally OK if UV resistant. Make sure you install filters so you can remove dirt easy, typical gutters get totally clogged up in about a year to the point it start growing weeds inside. The gutters should be either collected into cisterns or directed to sewers. If you have a dec...

Re: The rain in Spain

Only a fraction of the water the plant uses is consumed in photosynthesis, plenty evaporates to keep the plant cool or from the soil due to solar heat. But the idea is correct: when you do intensive plant cultivation plenty of water percolates down into the subterranean aquifers. The problem is that...

It is not that they aren't edible, it is just that they aren't used for it. Just try to identify which cultivar it is, it is easier to make an assessment that way.

Re: New Car First Service

I think the Italian sports cars like Ferrari and what not requires service every 2000km. Also if you drive much in dusty environments or rugged terrain you will likely need service in 5000km or so with a full oil change.

If you have a problem with small places maybe you shouldn't bother but it is a separate culture, Llano is not Spanish and it is not British either. They have a pidgin language which contains Arabic, Hebrew, English, Spanish and probably other languages as well. They use root forms of Hebrew words th...

If they dismantle it and find nothing they have to put it back together. Thats scaremongering from you as they don’t strip cars for nothing. They work on intelligence and also use sniffer dogs. What I know of customs is that the dogs are only for show, real sniffer dogs are way to expensive for tha...

Whatever you do, don't bring your car in. The waiting time is terrible, there is no parking available in Gibraltar and if you are unlucky the customs might decide to disassemble your car and I am not sure they have to reassemble it again.

Re: Strange samsung smartphone battery issue

There are a few battery calibration apps you can test at the Playstore which can improve the performance of the battery. I have no idea how they work and some experts claim they are total bogus but I had some serious battery problems with my phone and after having run them it went back to normal.
