Re: Safe Weed Killer

What is wrong with the f-cking echo chamber mentality here? "Oh this guy is trying to save somebody's plants, f-ck that guy right?" Lets add credibility by disrespecting the only person in the thread that is accredited. The dose you use with agricultural strength to kill everything is roug...

Re: Safe Weed Killer

For those who doesn't understand Sids level of sarcasm here: the stuff you buy at Bricomart is NOT the agro strength Glyphosate that you get at the Agrotienda. If you spray with agricultural strength near your plants and you have a slight wind drift you WILL harm your plants. Last year I killed 8 to...

Re: Safe Weed Killer

Good for you! I have been using it for years and the only thing I have killed are weeds. I spray it underneath my roses etc and they are all thriving. Happy professional applicating! Is that a tiny amount of sarcasm I sense under that "I don't understand the difference between a potted plant a...

Re: Safe Weed Killer

If it answers the question I don't use glyphosate anywhere within 3 meters of my plants and only during very low wind conditions (and I am a professionally accredited applicator).

Re: Safe Weed Killer

Not sure what you mean with safe. Glyphosate is definitely not harmless but it is one of the safer ones. If you are going to use it close to any real plants like avocado trees I do NOT recommend it, not only because the residuals entering the fruit but it is very easy to harm the plants with this st...

Re: ants nesting around young plants

Regular ants are not a problem, it is the big fire ants that can become a problem if there is nothing else to eat available for them. Otw they will just farm aphids which you can prevent somewhat easily by putting sticky traps on the stems.

Re: Prefab/modular/eco homes

Should not be impossible in zonas rusticas if you provide with the funds for eventual destruction costs and such. As I understand it the town hall does not like rural developments because of community legal commitments, if you build on a rural plot then they will be forced to cover certain costs if ...

Most peope I know recommend Nord, they are based in Panama I think which means they don't need to co-opt with surveillance states like Britain if that is a concern.

Re: Gardening work

I know there are plenty of unemployed gardeners in the region. I don't think English skills is the most important factor, usually in the hort business everything is counted by the number of work hours and what type of experience you have in the particular climate. Thousands of work hours in Britain ...

There are big machines that the army uses (of course).

500L is a bit more than the average person drinks in a day, I think you should call the doctor.

Re: Connecting to Town Water

If the plots are urbanizable I think the town is required to pay for it. However, as I have stated in other threads atmospheric water generators are quite cheap now, you can get one that produces several liters a day for less than 200 eur, it is going to be cheaper than a reverse osmosis unit regard...

Re: Improving my Wifi.

The entire thing is to understand what the combined router/ modem / gateway is. To use a Movistar router with another router you need to connect to the DHCP server in the other router, not the Movistar router. So the Movistar router will act only as a gateway, not as a DHCP-server like it normally do.

Re: Improving my Wifi.

You can get a gaming router, connect it to the modem and place the gaming router at a good location (not too close to the unit you want to have opitmal speed with).

Re: Spanish woman attacked for Speaking Spanish in London

Being pro-muslim doesn't usually go hand in hand with tolerance though as Islam is a very intolerant religion. Roughly 81% of all violent antisemitic attacks in Germany are made by muslims for instance.

The homogenity of most islamic countries in the middle east are something like 98-99.9% islamic.

Re: Spanish woman attacked for Speaking Spanish in London

Even though Flexo made a mistake, it is obvious she wasn’t alone otherwise she would have been speaking Spanish to herself. Neither this or the fact whether she was a tourist or not is relevant. What is that supposed to mean, that I am supposed to keep quiet about friends who is being harassed in L...

Re: Its cold!

Lost a bunch of trees, incl. two jacarandas, a fig tree and a bunch of palm seedlings. Combination I guess, cold, dark, too much rain. The gulf stream is the weakest it's been in 1600 years, which of course might influence but it is probably the opening of the polar jet winds that allows cold air to...

The British/ American home defense laws are quite unusual, in most countries you are liable even if a burglar falls on your stairs and hurts themselves while stealing your stuff.
