Re: Animal Neglect....Again!!

I am reluctant to re-open this old thread, however there is a twist that I thought to share. Slinky went to the Rainbow Bridge two weeks ago tomorrow, she had a paralysed larynx and she gradually became unable to breathe. Had to happen. Now the twist. On Wednesday night a dog was abandoned next doo...

Kaki ' trees'

About 12 years ago we chopped down our kaki tree, since then we have ' kaki ' trees popping up everywhere. If we chop them back they just send up shoots elsewhere in the garden. Any ideas on how to actually kill them off once and for all?

Re: Kitchen cupboard paint

A bit late in replying here, I have been AWOL for a while. I have painted the kitchen cupboards with Bruguer Ultra Resist, Adios a las manchas.
I have painted the white cupboards a soft grey. They ( touch wood ) look great 4 months later.

Re: gota fria this weekend?

The fireman who died was in a fire engine travelling from Antequera to Campillos to help with the severe flooding, the fire engine turned over on the way there. They found his body this morning after a search. He was 48 with 2 children. Teba, Campillos, Marchena, Morón de la Frontera, Antequera, Ard...

Re: gota fria this weekend?

Our local town, Morón de la Frontera, Sevilla had bad flooding yesterday, nothing compared to Campillos where a fireman has lost his life in the flooding. The A92 has been shut near Estepa ( I think ) raining again here, we have had thunder for a few hours and now raining again.

Re: Its cold!

We sat watching the flamenco show Carmen del Salvador Tavero last night, it started at 22.00and finished just before midnight. It was pretty cold, the bull ring was freezing! I think summer is due to start here , just east of Sevilla, next week.

Re: Seville-So Many Histories...

Every time we go to Sevilla we find something new and interesting. One day we came across a small square with a wall plaque dedicated to a neighbours husband's aunty. She was a Nun who could heal people, she was made a Saint.

Re: Inheritance tax allowance increase in 2018

I am totally confused! I had a letter out of the blue, my brother died almost 10years ago it seems there is a small pension that I might inherit. Both me and my husband are beneficiaries in his will. We are only talking of £5,000 more or less, they cannot give me a full figure yet. Do I pay take on ...

Re: Spain isnt cheap

We had 2 coffees, supposed to be cappuccino, but were more like a plain milky coffee and 2 toasted ( burnt) teacakes cost just under £9
Breakfast at the venta, for 3, 1 whole and 2 half rolls, and 3 coffees 4,80€ that includes pate, jam, olive oil and fresh tomato.

Re: Tiny fly, with white wings

I did wonder if anything to do with prickly pears. The plants along our track are very badly affected by a white fungi, look like the hedge is almost dead. The fungus is spreading on cactus further along track too.

Thanks for the reply Torredelaguila

Tiny fly, with white wings

And when I say tiny I mean very tiny. We have had loads at night. They leave a red mark if killed. Never seen them before, the door the other night was covered in them.

Re: The Frustrations of Unicaja

We used to bank with Unicaja but decided to transfer to BBVA when they offered free banking, which at the time Unicaja did not. We had paid the quarterly charges the previous week to Unicaja for the pleasure of our account always being in credit. We asked to withdraw the final amount, about 14€ the ...

Re: Malaga car hire.

They used Firefly and had an almost brand new car- the lady insisted there was no need to check as the car was so new, son said no he was going to check the car- they found a few unmarked scratches and a small dent not mentioned on the form. It was a full/empty policy, so they limped back with an al...
