Re: amazon

As Sid says It depends on the driver. They all seem to have different criteria to what they will do. Even different drivers with the same company vary. I would say the worst is Correos. I have waited at home for something then discover a note in my post box to tell me I have to collect it from the p...

Re: Messi

I'm big into football and take the opportunity to go to matches wherever I visit. Last Weekend was spent in Madrid so I went to Real Madrid's match with Athletic Bilbao. I think Messi Is a great player but I would not make him the greatest of all time. There have been many great players and my bench...

Re: Venz 4 k streaming box ?

Obviously, you are correct because millions of people will be plonking themselves in front of their TVs tonight using a mouse to control their TVs.

Re: Venz 4 k streaming box ?

My original response was directed at Mr Wilding's statement 'I'm also not a fan of Android based boxes because you need an air mouse' which is blatantly untrue and misleading to the OP who may well be an Android newbie. You are being pedantic. The website advises a Air mouse but whether it's WIFI M...

Re: Venz 4 k streaming box ?

Sure a wireless mouse/ keyboard could be used and maybe that’s how you came to the conclusion that it’s king but even a mouse is very clumsy compared to a dedicated TV remote.

Especially As the Fire TV remote can control the basic TV functions such as volume and switching the TV on and off.

Re: Venz 4 k streaming box ?

Can you tell us what you will want from a smart TV box and then people will advise? People who read this part of the forum will know I an not a fan of Pay services such as UK free to air services which can be received for free on dedicated Smart TV boxes. I'm also not a fan of Android based boxes be...

Re: Lone and ill

I agree Gordon. My wife’s extended family take it in turns to look after elderly members of the family. An Uncle with dementia was in a care home but as he had never married, nieces and my mother in law visited him to do things for him at regular intervals throughout the day. My father in-law has be...

Re: Venz 4 k streaming box ?

If you are looking for a low priced dedicated 4K smart TV box, have a look at the latest Fire TV dongle. Very stable and with a little know how, it's possible to side load Kodi and other Film and sports channels.

Re: FA cup semi final

The 3 o’clock games have always been the problem especially if you, as I do, support one of the less glamorous teams. I used to subscribe to premier league plus and before that Bein Arabic, which both tended to show everything before it became more difficult to pay. I tend to agree with you though t...

Re: FA cup semi final

That is interesting. I have signed up for the free month and got it working on various devices including iPad and iPhone. Using the Aptoide TV android app store, I have installed the app onto my Fire TV very easily as well as onto the PS4.There is an APP for TVs but as mine is set to the UK store I ...

FA cup semi final

It seems that DAZN has the rights for the FA cup in Spain. It is an Internet based company so a decent internet speed is needed. It costs €4.99 month but if you want to watch the semi final that the BBC doesn’t have, then they offer a free month’s trial. This is a company that in other countries has ...

Re: Entering Madrid by car

Hi Mark We got our 'eco' sticker from our local post office in rural Andalucia last week. You need to take your vehicle documents and the owner's NIE to the post office, and they access a DGT database with the reg number and advise you of which sticker (of the four different types) you need. Cost u...

Entering Madrid by car

It seems that Madrid has introduced a sort of congestion charge and will not permit older cars etc inside a certain area in Madrid. I’m traveling down in a couple of weeks and will need a sticker. I will try to buy one from my local post office so as to know whether they are available outside Madrid...

I’m with Al on this. I know it’s frustrating but there is a real cultural difference regarding certain police so they will never see it from your point of view.
Better let it go.

Re: Passport control post Brexit

Expats are allowed to vote. Not sure what your point has got to do with this thread. At the moment all anyone can offer is opinion because nobody knows. I wouldn't be surprised if nothing at all changed due to chipped passports. Maybe at UK airports UK passport holders will have our own smaller lane...

Re: Passport control post Brexit

I can't see what changes there can be apart from the possible stamp. Travelling between a Schengen country and the UK and Ireland already means going through passport control when leaving and entering Spain as well as when entering the UK. It is a different process when travelling within Schengen be...

Re: Communal satellite dish for UK TV

You would have to say that you are lucky to be able to watch UKTV through a satellite system. It must definitely be the best way if you can access Freesat, which most people were using before the changes. Having said that, even I if I had Freesat, I would still be using catchup on the internet playe...
