H i Im looking to buy a motorbike from someone near malaga and the owner informed me that the transferencia can now be done online. Re: Land Registry and Catastral problem

I don't know if you're confused or just presented your situation badly. Firstly, If a recent nota simple states that you are the owner, that means you are the owner! Nota simple is a reflection of what's on the register which is backed by an escritura. Secondly, catastro does NOT define ownership an...

Re: Harvesting green olives

I know that black olives are harvested November December, but when are green olives harvested? They seem to be green for a long time. I only have a couple of trees and would like to have a go at preserving them. Believe it or not, it's obvious when to pick them. Firstly, forget about choosing a dat...

Re: Lottery security changes

Received similar communication couple of months ago. Just ignored it until such time as I win decent money, lol. It only affects the withdrawl of money over a certain amount from your account. In the instructions in the website it clearly states to use copy of passport if NIE doesn't have a photo! J...

Re: electrician for small repair job in Benalmadena

Doesn't anyone do household chores themselves? I wouldn't leave a Spaniard near anything in my house. If I want something done, I do it myself. Actually, _I've been doing a load of electrical work in recent times which would have cost hundreds otherwise. With the internet it's so easy to educate our...

Re: Anyone been fined for late declaration of assets?

Hi yes we were fiscal residents as had an SL company for a 12 years. I know we messed up as we did need to declare the asset but wondering what the possible fines may be. thanks I would consider you fairly dumb to do a late declaration. Wait for them to come to you. Be a little bit more spanish in ...

Re: Getting Residency

revereting to this thread after a while. This question really is "asking for a friend" ! A hypothetical question, if one has a Finnish passport and spends a lot of time, 6/8 months of the year in Spain and rents a property here (usually for cash) how do the authorities know how long he's ...

I know for a fact Brits are being seen without appointment at DGT at the moment. Don't know if all offices are applying the same rules though.

Re: Urbanisation bans all plants in my own garden

I presume u made a typo.........it's art591 and 592 of the Codigo Civil. The distances are general but can be defined at townhall level also. For instance, for us, a bush - half metre; normal tree - 1 metre; palm -3m; euculytus - 6m, etc. The neighbour can cut overhanging branches and also cut tresp...

Re: Bedbugs in rented flat - who pays?

Unfortunately, u put horse before cart!! Mentioning other countries is irrelevant. It's Spain and we operate to Spanish law only. U fixed the problem without consultation with your landlord, so it's totally your liability. Any problems with a rental should firstly be communicated to your landlord, v...

Straight from the horse's mouth............S1 due to "insurance", no SS number issued. Obviously, this is general statement.

Re: Water deposit

I think you're going down the wrong road!! Buy a 1m3 water tank and a pump to pump the water to the house when pressure is low. Total cost for both no more than 300 euros. Obviously the tank gets filled automatically with mains water. U might even be able to put the tank on the roof of your house. V...

Re: Tenant or landlord's name for utilities?

It's more standard practice to put the utilities in the tenant's name. e.g. v easily done with Endesa; just add the tenant's name as a third party through the online system. The landlord retains ownership, the tenant is responsible for paying the bills. Having said that, we'll be renting out our fin...

Re: Artificial Grass

Buy the longest grass available. We have either 35 or 40mm. Put it down years ago and still in perfect condition. Spray with water occasionally and rake stones and leaves out too.

The "short" grass is rubbish and falls apart.

Great call, spanish_lad! It served up directseguros.es (AXA) as the cheapest at a competitive 72 EUR for the details I presented. Of course when I clicked on the web offer link it was busted. Re: Exchanging UK driving Licence for a Spanish one

Go to the DGT website and select the Sede Electronico. There u can consult the state of your application by entering NIE and DOB. No other requirements.

It may shed some light on the issue; e.g. if it says sent by post, you'll know that it's lost, etc.

Nothing like shoving your head in the sand!! Wake up to the reality. Spaniards don't need an excuse to poison a dog. its a bit of fun for them. They might have had a bad day at the office or their kid said they were scared or something. It's what they do!! Spaniards also suffer from envy and jealous...

Re: Illegal Wells ( pozos)

Totally disagree!! We have a duty to report corruption and dishonesty. By not doing so, you are just as bad as them. Spaniards operate on the premise that I won't tell on you if you don't tell on me. Hence the reason that the country has such a problem. It's never one individual, they're all in it t...
