Re: Malaga car hire.

Another question, if they use a car hire that is based at the airport, we will have to meet with the baby seat and husband is being added as 2nd driver, it is possible to get to car hire place from 'outside' the arrivals area?

Malaga car hire.

Sorry, this is a subject covered many times I know! Our son is visiting beginning of April, with year old son and older daughter, they normally share our car, but baby now makes it impossible. Looking at car hire from Malaga, who should be avoided like the plague? Thanks

Re: buying beds and bedding

I had forgotten the fun the delivery man had getting our bed base in the old house, in the end it was hauled up with a rope over the upstairs patio!

Husband flew back Wednesday, Stansted to Seville, he said one Spanish man had two way oversized bags, then proceeded to cause problems as he insisted on his thick coat and thick jumper go in the locker, he said folk were getting really angry with the selfish ***

Re: What to bring with you.....

Books were high on my list when we first moved here, but now there are things like Kindles for reading books on my supply has gone down- I used to visit the charity shop in my old town, 30p a book, a bargain!! A warm cardigan/jumper. We just visited the UK and bought back some crumpets, a lovely tre...

Re: Hello again! What are you all up to these days?

We have been living here now for 12 years, time has flown past. We too have started to travelback to the UK as we now have grandkids, but have no plans to move back. We are content, I realise how lucky we are that we have escaped the rat race, we have outlived close family members now!! The only thi...

Re: Spanish attitude to guiris & vice versa - chicken or egg?

We met the miserable Spaniard when we did our residencia application, no hola, gracias, adiós, nothing! I felt like pointing out if it were not for us foreigners he would have no job! Apart from him, oh and the rude young man in the Chinese owned bazaar shop (I told him manners cost nothing) we have...

Re: Ryanair checked luggage anamoly

We flew Sevilla to Stansted and home again over the Christmas period, what makes me so mad is the oversized cabin baggage that is being allowed nowadays. The man sitting next to me had a huge canvas sack type bag, almost two seats width wide and a massive carrier bag full of stuff. He took up almost...

Re: cancelling Movistar

We have had a letter stating our contract stopped on 18th November and we were due a small refund. We still have a line connected, we were told an engineer would disconnect 'at their end' . We have cancelled the direct debit.

Re: INSURANCE CLAIM

Every Spanish policy holder pays a small amount to the ' consorcio' sorry if spelling is wrong! Then for a natural disaster the consorcio pays the bill. Not sure if it is the Andalucian government or central government who back it up. We had a claim for flood damage a few years back. Took photos to ...

Dying without writing a will

My friend said if you die and have no will the government takes the house or what ever the person had, if house was owned 50/50 they take 50% of the house. I have never heard of that rule before. We have wills!

Re: cancelling Movistar

Well I telephoned to cancel our telephone, was told I had to write in to them. I wrote, no reply, so telephoned, got cut off after being on hold for 20 min. I telephoned again, this time I spoke to a lady who spoke so loud I could not understand her, she then finished whatever she was shouting down ...

Tax return- this might be a question Cid can help with!

Some time ago I received a small lump sum payment in relation to a county council pension. I was only employed there for a few years. Although this is tax free in the UK, I knew tax was due in Spain and I declared it on my Spanish tax return, and I then paid the tax at the standard rate. I have sinc...

cancelling Movistar

We are getting rid of our land line, we hardly use it so decided to get rid of it. Is it just a case of sending a letter by registered post to Movistar giving a months notice and then cancelling our direct debit ?
