Interesting. Just tried it again and it is still showing €6 on mine and wants to charge me that as well when I start a purchase. I didn't go through with it.
Maybe it is because I am accessing it from the UK. I'll try again tomorrow when I get back to Spain.
There is a change to EuroMillions in UK from this week. The tickets are now 2 pounds, but it also includes an entry to a raffle where one person each week will win 1 million pounds. Each ticket will include a printed number that will be entered for the raffle. Is the EuroMilliones including this in Spain? if so how much will the tickets be this week?
I would just caution you to be very sure that you are fully legally right in entering the Euromillions using a UK-based website - you may have read that Camelot are refusing to pay out for any UK Lottery ickets, if the buyer is not in the UK at the time of purchase. You may have to buy then from whoever the franchise-holder is for Spain, if you are in Spain at the time? Just think how you would feel to get the right numbers for 75 million quid, but be disallowed on a technicality? Read all the small print, and good luck!
The more someone says "You can't say that!" the more important it is that you do say it.
I've just checked the elgordo site and its showing €6 for one line of Euromillions (+€10 'sending costs'???). I have checked my euromillions ticket, bought yesterday in Ireland, for this fridays draw and it is €2.
ádh mór ort agus sláinte..... (Good luck and good health)!
just a question about the euromillions. When i moved over here i had a lottery account that i had set up in uk. For a few months i had been doing the lottery on line without knowing they would not pay out because i live in spain. I have now given my account details to a relative in uk, each week he goes into my account to buy the tickets on line. Would i have a problem doing it this way.
I assume you are talking about the UK National Lottery.
My understanding is that you would have a problem. In the Terms and Conditions for playing on line, registration requires that "the Intending Player is a resident of the UK or Isle of Man."
My guess is that even though your friend is placing the bet for you, it is your account, so winnings would be invalid if you aren't UK resident. You would probably get away with small wins but they would certainly check up if you won a biggie, especially if it was a jackpot.
You might get away with it if your friend was able to convince them they were the player, but there may be tax implications, or worse, when your friend hands over your prize to you.
You have more faith than me in human nature, to trust that the relative would cheerfully hand over a couple of million, should your numbers come up! It would probably be difficult for you to get the money off them, as ipso facto, you are not entitled to it, and they could possibly claim that the agreement was for them to take over the account. Most people murdered, raped and assaulted are victims of someone known to them or related to them, and money does funny things to folk!
