Best place to sell goods

Postby Jenny1960 » Sat Jul 26, 2014 8:50 pm

Hello everyone (again),

We've just bought a villa in the Marbella area which is fully furnished. We want to sell everything including 2 fitted kitchens around the 2nd week in October when we have finished our holiday there. Where is the best place to advertise? I was thinking the Sur in English....any other recommendations please?.......

If you are on facebook, flogitcostadelsol site is good.
My spelling is Wobbly. It's good spelling but it Wobbles, and the letters get in the wrong places.

How about further downdraft the coast. The Euro Weekly News or the Sentinella. Both quite well read.

Jenny, which side of Marbella are you on ? Malaga or San Pedro ? There are one or two house clearence places San Pedro to Estepona. One of them that comes to mind is "Jeans Emporium", I'm sure you wont get a fortune out of it but at least it will clear the place for you.

Thank you unicorn, not heard of that one.
Another thing I wanted to ask was, do you think it would be safe if I held and 'open day' ?
Would it be safe to put the address in the local paper and advertise and open day between such & such a time or do you think that is unwise?

I personally would advise not to. After all you can't vet everyone that comes round. Think of another way, maybe hire a room somewhere.

Your right Luckyjim, I don't think I will but, the trouble with renting a room to sell the goods is that there is way too much stuff. I have TWO fully fitted kitchens and a hot tub (Jacuzzi) amongst other things.
Thanks for your reply though

The A.com site used to have one but it was dropped as it hardly ever got used.

How long ago was that Gerry? I really cannot recall one ever being set up in my time here.

I mentioned this a year or two back though as I thought it would get well used if there was one, I could be wrong though.

Can't remember when, but I know it was several years ago.
Perhaps Sid or Beachcomber can remember when it was dropped.

Perhaps, a friend with a garage Jenny or maybe a friendly estate agent who could suggest somewhere that you could borrow for the day and that way you could advertise it(bit like the American garage sale).

Jeez, its not like an unused section would slow down the www  . This forum needs a section like that to keep the traffic flowing.

The forum never had a buy/ sell section.
The A.com website had one, perhaps that is why it wasn't used?
I only ever look at the A.com forum.
