Can anyone tell me if there is a good bed shop in the Malaga area or around Nerja?
We are moving over to a furnished place but I have degenerative disc disease in my lower back and sleep very badly even on a good mattress but if the mattress is unsuitable I will need to replace it with a good one (when I find the right one that is!).
Or am I better trying to get one ordered off the internet and sent over there ?

Re: Bed Specialist
It depends on what you buy. Pikolin is a Spanish company and the second largest bed manufacturer in Europe. They will be cheaper to buy in Spain and a UK brand will probably be more expensive in Spain.

El Corte Ingles.

Pikolin is a good make, we have a pikolin orthopedic mattress,as my husband has major spinal problems, its very comfortable, you just have to make sure you buy the largest size they have, remembering spanish matresses are much smaller.

I did look at the Pikolin site but it doesn't tell you what the mattresses consist of. I was thinking of a pocket sprung with memory foam in the top. Are the pikolin ones more expensive than UK priced ones ?
Re: Bed Specialist
I live in Seville province,in my area most furniture shops seem to have a range of pikolin matresses,we purchased ours some years ago as end of range with an extra discount as it was the largest size,so less popular with the spanish.I cannot remember the price, but i do remember it didnt seem ridiculously expensive, having said that i have no idea what the prices are in the uk for bed matresses. We purchased ours from a store called Sarria, the staff were very helpful, though i dont know if these stores are in your area. The best thing to do is to get into the towns and have a good look around in the furniture stores.

Yes you are right, I will have to have a good look around when I get over there, was just wondering if it would be better to order a mattress on line for delivery to Spain or leave it until I get there that's all.
Thanks anyway for all the advice

Yes, check it out here first. At least you can try various options. Unless you know exactly what model you want it would be crazy to order online from the UK, also the carriage will offset any possible price advantage.
I have found that most things are cheaper here if you take the time to look around.

Re: Bed Specialist
Besides which............you don't even know yet if the mattress/bed provided in your proposed rented accommodation will be suitable or otherwise. Presumably you can only check that when you arrive and try it??

Re: Bed Specialist
You are right of course Gus, but going on beds I have experienced in rental properties and the like, they tend not to be either memory foam or the right firmness for me. They are either too firm or too soft !
