I am so sorry to read this sad news - like the previous posts, I always found him cheerful & helpful, even when going through treatment.
I hope these messages give some comfort to his family at this difficult time

Very very sad for his family but did any members actually know Steve? On these forums we all have banter and much more every week but I wonder how many people have actually met in person. I feel that I know a lot of members but I have never met any apart from in cyber life.

I never met Steve, but we pm ed each other a few times. I have met some members of the forum - in fact it was the forum that got me in touch with some members local to me who I am still in touch with :-)

To answer your question, yes. My wife and I have been friends with Steve and Gillian for many years.

Today is Steve's funeral in Weymouth. His daughters both live in the south west. His ashes with be partly scattered near Prestwick airport, where Steve was a senior air traffic controller for many years looking after the northern Atlantic. The remainder will be scattered in the river bed below his beloved farmhouse in the Campo.

Rest in Peace, my good friend.

Thanks for letting us know AJ. Very moving. But hopefully he had a good life and left with no regrets at all. Lovely idea with steve´s ashes. RIP Steve.

I have just seen that Steve was not yet 65 so he has gone early and has been battling brain tumours for four years. Very sad.
