changing pounds to euros?
changing pounds to euros?
I am going to UK next week and am thinking to bring back some stirling ( not thousands, a few hundred) ... where would be the best exchange rate ... at the airport or my local Spanish bank?

Hi gavilan,
Neither of the above.........try using your local Post Office..........
http://www.postoffice.co.uk/travel-money/euros
Or others..........Example............current rates will differ..........Homework time for you ........
"However, in a survey of how many euros a holidaymaker could get for £500, the Post Office rates returned only €551, in comparison with €559.89 from Co-op Travel, €559.08 from Asda Money and €558.93 from Tesco"

All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.

Are you dealing with cash or money already in a bank account in the U.K.? If it's in a bank account you could use a Revolut card with consistently good rates, and ATM. If cash, you are at the mercy of the dealers.

If its transferring between banks, without a shadow of a doubt the winner for me has been www.transferwise.com . I've been using it recently to take advantage of the GBP collapse.

Passing through Waterloo yesterday on my way to watch the "Gooners", picked up some Euros at 1.08 at "ICE"...
Hopefully that is the lowest price I will pay for "cash" for ever again !
