Perseids 2018 11-12th and 12-13th August.
Here is a link to a nice little animation, tells you all you need to know.
Should be a good year as the moon is just a crescent.

It should start up with the settings for Malaga.

What I didn't mention is to change the date it's at the top right of the animation.
Glad you like it. I know there are a few Meteor Spotters here.

Re: Perseids 2018 11-12th and 12-13th August.
Came up with Madrid for me (now reset to Malaga) but a very good video. I never have much luck in spotting anything although I have seen one really big shooting star after hours of watching one year.
I never found out what the large flash of light was I saw the other week, I guess no-one else saw it. No doubt I will try again this year but I have to either sit in the pool or wrap myself up with something as we have a garden full of biting insects after dark (and this year a zillion wasps when it's daylight ..... needless to say I do not spend much time out of doors in the summer )

?did anyone see anything last night? ... too foggy here!
Re: Perseids 2018 11-12th and 12-13th August.
Yes a bit hazy, nothing seen, Mars is nice and visible still however.
Re: Perseids 2018 11-12th and 12-13th August.
One or two but saw an equivalent amount the night before!
Shall try again tonight.

Not a sausage ... but then that's usual for me. I shall have a look tonight if the skies clear (it's been cloudy today) but I am not staying out for hours as I get bitten to pieces in our garden.

Much much better tonight.
Saw quite a few . The website was a great help, thanks for taking the trouble to post it.

Nada, just found it by accident
Re: Perseids 2018 11-12th and 12-13th August.
Well, I wrapped myself up in a sheet like a mummy and lay on a sun lounger and actually saw 5 small ones whizz overhead .... probably the best night ever. I only stayed out about 30 mins as I found I was breathing in midges and when one of the cats decided to crunch loudly on a rat he had just caught, then proceed to regurgitate it just behind where I was sitting, I thought it was time to go indoors!

Wicksey - go kick the cat !!! - no just joking. But have you tried Jungle Formula ... you may need to have it sent out from UK, as I have never found it in France or Spain. Put it on an hour before you go out, it lasts for 8 hours under jungle conditions, and you should have a peaceful, rather-more-than half an hour meteor gazing. We have found over the last three nights, an average of 2 big ones and a little one or two in a half hour period, then a gap, then just as you are ready to give up and go in, they start again. Very clear skies over here in rural Huelva.
It is a bit smelly, and you sound like you attract bugs, like Mrs G, so you need to squirt it on a patch, then spread it about on any exposed skin, and draw a ring round your forehead, sides of face and jaw line. I believe it is also fairly water-proof, once it has dried into your skin.
Of course, by the time you have got the stuff this time, the shower will be over and done with, but it might be worth considering for future evenings out, and of course for the meteors next year! The likes of Autan and various others have never worked for Mrs G, but Jungle Formula does!!

Thanks Gasman In fact I have just found some Jungle Formula at the back of the cupboard. We just don't go outside much in the summer evenings as we get bitten to pieces. Just a few seconds outside and they descend upon us. I would have to spray every inch to avoid getting bitten. We have got a bit of a jungle-like garden so I guess that's the problem. Although only my nose and eyes were exposed the other night I found I was breathing them in up my nose ....urghh .... and I ended up so hot my glasses steamed up ...haha you have to laugh!
I did see a couple more shooting stars in quick succession the following night too. A better year than most it seems.

No worries - sounds like you ought to get the council in to spray the property as a health hazard!!! Hope you enjoy autumn more - soon be on its way!
Re: Perseids 2018 11-12th and 12-13th August.
This isn't the only property here we've had that trouble with ..... it's a case of being in the campo with far too many plants in the garden I think Makes stargazing quite difficult unfortunately.
