Has anybody been skiing in Sierra Nevada this year?
We are back in Spain at the end of the week and fancied three days skiing but the snow reports online are not good. I don't want to pay Easyjet's exorbitant baggage fees for all our ski stuff if the skiing's going to be rubbish.
Any local info would be a great help!

Thanks Enrique,
yes we have looked. Most runs open but only artificial snow lower down and showing hard packed higher up. No new snow forecast and none fallen for a while. Doesn't sound too promising so I'm wondering whether it's worth the cost of 3 days hotel, lift passes, airline hold baggage etc.
Just wondering if anyone local had been up there skiing recently. I skied it in March 2015 and it was great in the mornings, bit slushy after lunch.

Not had any rain in this area for sometime........they say 100KM out of 106km open and all lifts open, icy makes for fast skiing ....
We are going up in March this year with our group/family, last few years has been at Christmas time and been OK too.
Will be great après-ski as the sun is warm...............

Thanks Enrique
we shall give it a go. Just noticed that Sunday is FIS World Ski Day. Lots of activities for kids, especially aimed at new or non skiers. Just for info of any forum members watching. (Mine are all grown up).
