A nice beach?

Postby IreneD » Sun May 21, 2017 1:34 pm

Can anyone recommend a nice beach between Malaga and Torre de Mar? We have visitors coming out and after picking up their hire car and leaving the airport, they want to stop off at a beach for a couple of hours before getting to us. Something easy to find from the motorway, please :)

La Carihuela, excellent beach and a traffic free pedestrian zone :-)

Nice and not too far to go the Malagueta Beach...Malaga. Lovely chiriguitos as well.

You can park easier at La Cala but I think Benajaraffe is a nicer beach.

Hmm.....after some deliberation and Googling, I think I'm going to suggest the Cala del Moral. Many thanks Elusive and Costa Kid. This looks the nicest, bearing in mind the more picturesque type beaches are Nerja and beyond, really (in my opinion). But they won't want to go further than Torre del Mar on the day of their arrival, as that's where they will turn off to go up our mountain.

Thanks very much for the recommendations.

If you drive through La Cala and turn right after the roundabout in the centre you can drive behind the houses on a small road and there is a carpark right on the beach. The restaurant to the left where you go up some stairs is good and the view is lovely. Its called Cala Flores.

Very useful, costakid, thank you! Will pass that info on! Am I right in assuming you take the Rincon de la Victoria turn off the motorway?

The turn off sign says la cala. We normally come off at the parque commercial carrefour turn off and in that way.if they walk around to rincon on the lovely wooden walk ways that overlook the sea or through the tunnels kikos is a really good seafood restaurant right on the front prom as you come into rincon

Exit Túnel el calderón and take 2nd exit signed La Cala Del moral. Past the cementos at La Arana and into La Cala. Through the town to roundabout then follow previous instructions. Lunch at La Cala then a walk to Rincon via tunnels or around the outside path.

Please tell them to make sure their luggage is well hidden.
There have been instances of people travelling in the other direction having cars broken into and luggage taken.

A very good point - I'll pass that warning on.
