Three more dog friendly hotels ES-UK

Postby olive » Thu Feb 28, 2019 10:59 pm

Stayed in a lot of hotels on our recent 55 day trip .

I have three very different offerings for the route between UK and Spain.

First is the Best Western Hermitage in Mireuil sur mer ( in Northern France) . Wifi, dog friendly and coffee making facilities. Secure parking around the back. Good breakfast. Didnt like the restaurant menu but the town has quite a few restaurants. The town has charm and was used by Haig as a command centre.

Second is a different offering. Galerie Tatry in Bordeaux. Something like a hundred apartments in a converted old warehouse. wifi. Our apartment had a kitchenette with dishwasher, lounge with tv, bedroom with tv, bathroom, separate toilet. Breakfast served in reception area. Functional apartment but a bit soulless.the great plus was very regular tram nearby that runs into the centre. I was a bit dubious about the on site parking.

The third is off the beaten track in Yanguas. We have done the Northern Spain ( Madrid to Irun) run quite a few times. On the way back we went Irun to Pamplona . Obviously not as fast as motorway but scenic . The Los Cerezos in Yanguas was a gem in the middle of nowhere between Logrono and Soria. Quiet, comfortable spacious rooms. Nice menu and breakfast. Wifi was very slow. Only 128 inhabitants in the village so little concern with parking with a loaded car. Plenty of snow in places so it wouldnt be a good choice in bad weather. The onward drive to Soria was good and car free, from Soria to Madrid was empty motorway.

Hope that helps anyone planning a trip.
