Brightly coloured fabrics

Postby gerryh » Sat Feb 09, 2008 1:25 pm

I'm looking for some brightly coloured fabrics, mainly greens and reds.

Any recommendations for shops in the Velez Malaga/ Rincon de la Victoria areas?

Must be available somewhere looking at the variety of colours in the recent Nerja carnival.

Cheers

Gerry - you don't say what you want it for - upholstery/curtains or clothing. If the former, the bedding shop next to Base in Velez (just past Mas) has some very brightly coloured fabric. There are a couple of other shops with furnishing fabrics, some of them VERY vivid - there was a thread recently listing them. For clothing fabric, I don't think there's such a selection. In fact, I would have a trip to Malaga and go to El Kilo - just off Larios, next to C&A which has "fiesta" fabrics, as bright as you could want.

Hi Alison
I'm making some Audrey IIs :D
If you don't know what Audrey II is it's a large man eating plant that features in the musical "Little Shop of Horrors"
Don't mind if it's upholstery, clothing, or curtain fabric as long as it's vivid and cheap.
Cheers

Just returned from a trip to Malaga :(
When you say "Larios" do you mean the Larios Shopping Centre"
Went there, walked all around the outside up and down several roads but didn't find a C&A or the shop you mentioned.

Gerry

Think she will mean Calle Larios, rather than the shopping centre

Calle Larios is one of the biggest streets in Malaga!

I think its off alameda principal, but I will check and get back to you, stand by!!

Hi,

Checked on Google Maps and its official title is Calle Molina Lario, and its off Paseo del Parque, just along from Alameda Principal

Hope that helps

Sorry Gerry - yes I did mean Paseo Larios. It's the big pedestrian street. Coming from the sea end, C&A and El Kilo are about the third or fourth street off on the left

Just got back from El Kilo.
Just the type of shop I was looking for.
It's on Liborio Garcia which is off Calle Marques de Larios if anybody else is looking for the shop.

Scarlet - they don't have a big range of 100% cotton for clothing (other than children's), but if you want plain, they've got very good quality sheeting in a huge range of colours. They've also got some lovely natural fabrics - a few weights of linen, and silk
