Communion etiquette
What should we give to a young girl on her first communion? If money how much? Do we pay for the meal too?
Re: Communion etiquette
I went to my neighbour's and got her a pen set with her name embossed on the posh propelling pencil & ball-point
Personally I think cash is OK but that was more long-lasting

Re: Communion etiquette
We have been to numerous Spanish Communion Celebrations and have found that to the Spanish people they are very special and memorable occasions, so we try to give a lasting momento, also a 'fun' gift for the child and some money to the parents ( discreetly placed in an envelope with a card ).
You do not have to spend a fortune, just what you can afford,it's the thought that counts, Spanish people are very sentimental, and appreciate thoughtful gifts.
The last time we attended such a function we chose a nice ornament, which is now in the parents glass cabinet and will stay there until the child marries.
The greetings card is a British 'thing', but they absolutely love them and I noticed that one of the parents still has the card also in the glass cabinet.!
Enjoy and embrace the occasion, but Don't drink too much.
Regards,
Gordon

Hi olivewiew01,
100€ if you're close to the Family, 50€ if just an acquaintance.

All my best learning experiences start with a problem I need to solve.
