Time to purchase a new gas estufa
There are two types (I think)
Radiant - usually have 3 ceramic elements
Catalytic - have a large rectangular catalyst pad with mesh
I've used both of these types in the past - I found the radiant type to be noisy as well as the elements not glowing. The catalytic giving off too much of a gas smell with a lot of spluttering right after ignition.
I've seen other estufas on sale, that is 'blue flame' and drum shaped. Anyone on the forum use one of these?

Re: Gas Estufas
We had a blue flame gas heater in our old house for a couple of years before we moved. It was more powerful than the old catalytic ones we'd had before (4.2kw) and the heat seemed to be more diffused around the room rather than it being very warm just in front of the heater but not further away.
