Residencia

Postby Alcala Barry » Fri Mar 09, 2018 1:41 pm

A friend of mine asked me yesterday how do you cancel your Residencia and go back to being a 'holiday' visitor again. He is off back to the UK to work fulltime again. Does he have to visit the place that issued his Residencia or can you do it online?

He wants keep his apartment here and still visit on a regular basis.

Regards

Barry

I would not bother as all it gives you is the right to stay for more than 90 days at a time. It doesn’t mean you have to. Also with Brexit looming I would keep it in case as it might be more difficult to get it in future.

If he is currently tax resident then he would need to cancel that. Miro will give the exact procedure as he did that recently.

I see what you mean Cid.
He seems more worried about getting back his right to health care in the UK.

Had a quick look at the CAB information/advice and it appears that you use the same form (EX-18) as when you applied for Residencia.
All good stuff though.
