Just a quick question. If you have a community meeting is it the norm that if you are selling your house you would advise the others at the meeting that you are doing so.do alot of communties have a rule that you have to advise.or is it not the norm at all that you would tell the other owners

Not in my experience. If you have a board up they will know but I can’t see it being anyones business.

If your community is registered under the Horizontal Property Act ( Ley de Propiadad Horizontal ) you do not have to notify the community of your intention to sell unless it is stipulated within your community bylaws ( unlikely).
However, you do need to notify the community administrator as to who the new owners are, and their contact details, when the sale is completed.
Normaly, the buyers lawyers will contact the administrator to find out if all fees have been paid up to date.

Might it be a good idea to inform community members that your property is up for sale?
They might know someone who wants to by a property on your community.

These days when selling notaries require a certificate from the administrator stating that all fees are up to date, so it's impossible not to notify the administrator. But as for other owners, as already said, it's none of their business, although it may be worth letting them know for the reason stated.
If you're renting, why are you interested in community meetings anyway?
Don't worry about what people think, they don't do it very often
