Power supply in Spain

Postby gerryh » Thu Mar 07, 2019 8:43 am

If someone has a 4.4KW 3 phase supply here in Spain is it a total of 4.4KW or 4.4KW per phase?
Cheers

Hi Gerry

The way he explained it to me is if you have 4.4KW 3 phase electricity then it is split between these phases at 1.466 each and not a total of 4.4KW for each phase. this is where the ICP trips your electricity if you use too much.

I think you will find that the 4.4kw is for each phase giving 13.2kw overall. That is what we have. Each phase has a 20a ICP.

Thanks Sid. That makes sense to me and as I would expect it to be but just checking that Spain doesn't calculate it differently.

Actually the contracted amount is 13.856Kw. How they arrive at that figure rather than 13.2Kw I know not!
