only 500 ?? are you sure ? what car is it ?pwwm wrote:we bought our car and are currently in the process of changing plates. it will cost us around 500 euro's for the complete change including using a Gestoria. I have no regrets bringing my car it is LHD but you have to weigh the cost against buying here, second hand cars appear to be expensive.
Alhaurin el Grande since 99, working at the airport since 2011.
Why doubt me? this is one of the reasons I do not post on here too often. I have it in writing and our Gestoria has very low charge's, engine size, age, etc all come into it. Our Technico has a list of the tax bands and has shown us the cost, but we already new them, he just confirmed it.
Yes I am not only sure but am 100% certain

Surely the total cost mainly depends on the value of the car.spanish_lad wrote: i just wondered because everyone i have asked quoted closer to 1000.
On a 6 month old luxury car the tax at up to 12% would be a lot more than 1000 euros!
On older cars the tax office is usually pretty realistic about the cars value and often value it at less than you might expect.
It is also important to remember that cars imported at the time of applying for residency can be imported tax free.

There is a lhd auction every couple of weeks down near Maidstone, but I guess a bit far for you to travel?
Try search engine like Google. I used them when I was looking and they can give a listing of lhd dealerships in the uk.
Where in Iznajar are you purchasing? We bought earlier this year on the Salinas to Iznajar road, about 5 mins from the lake
