We brought our Jack Russell with us when we moved.
The airline we booked our flight with, Monarch, gave us a telephone number for the air-cargo side at the airport we were leaving from.
I would suggest either contacting the airline your booking your flights with or the airport your flying from. They will put you in touch with the right people, who should advise clearly what the costs and conditions are.

Prtetend it is a pork pie for your inflight meal! [/quote]
probably better than the stuff they serve- bit crunchy though!
Think i would get into trouble putting him in my inflight bag- dont know what i would say at the scanning machine. Will phone the airline ans see what they say. Though its easyjet, so they probably wont care that much!!
Thanks

Hi there
Check with your vet as a lot of countries are funny about exporting\importing torties, probably wont have much trouble this end but they may impound him in the UK because of the airlines.
We had to leave ours behind when we left Mexico,I shouldn't think the same rules apply but it would be horrible to have to leave him, either that just wrap him in clingfilm and pretend he's a sandwich

Hi
Just checked Easyjet FAQs and this is what it says about animals...
The carriage of live animals, including pets, insects, reptiles, or any other form of livestock, is forbidden under any circumstances, with the exception of service dogs for blind and/or deaf passengers and helping dogs for the disabled on all UK, French, and Italian domestic flights, and on international flights between France and Switzerland only.
So it looks like it might have to be your drawers after all!!!

Joking aside, tortoise smuggling is a huge business as it is an endangered species.
You may need to be able to prove that it was legally obtained and that you have the relevant licence etc.

Thanks for that- like the handbag idea. Hubbie could always put him in his drawers, and wear his cricket trousers. could pose it as some sort of box! .
He would look fetching in a wig, but think red may be more his colour- blond can be soooo ageing!!!
back to the serious bit- yes we have all the documentation. he is a Mediterranean tortoise, born in Wales. Could say we are just taking him home.
