Must have been midweek then. It was very decent though for the price I seem to remember.

Paella's a funny dish though, the locals by us just call it Arroz.............even if it is what we'd call Paella.

I only ask because I have acid reflux and indigestion when I eat at Ayo's.
Go to the chemist and ask for Omeprazole. 28 tabs for around €2.60. You won't have reflux again. I suffered with it for 35 years till I got this. Reflux free for two years.

Perhaps we could persuade Ayo to throw some into the Paella

Dear God  I know as we get older that change is an issue for most people but the same restaurant and the same meal every sunday for eleven years  .
What we choose to do with our time is our business.
I don't see that is any of your business what we do with our time.
I would appreciate it if you didn't be so rude to me and my wife again.

When I saw my mates, we met every Thursday in the same bar for about 20 years.
Can't see a problem there.

Me too. I take one a day. You do need checking out though if you need to take them all the time. Can be a sign of cancer.

Don't like Paella except as a tapa. It's boring and they can chuck any old stuff in. Only had one bout of serious food poisoning and that was a paella cooked by a neighbour in his garden.

Ask me to cook a five course banquet for 200 persons. No problem. Expect me to unravel the secrets of the Internet no way! Thanks for the help but it means nothing to me. If I want to send things from my iPad it is easy. Doing what you want is impossible.

I know I am the voice of doom and gloom but worth a read. If you need to take it all the time you should be given an endoscopy within two weeks.

Hi guys. I'm back to the area and still getting gluten symptoms following an Ayo paella.

But I dragged up this old thread to politely warn anyone taking acid blockers or production suppressants regularly. Don't. If you get reflux it's for a reason, most commonly a food intolerance (Dairy and gluten are most common) but could also be a bacterial infection such as h pylori or rarely something worse. Sufficient acid is crucial to not only digest your food properly but to protect you from external pathogens. Please ditch the omeprazole asap and try an elimination diet if needs be. Cheers

I have suffered from reflux problems for a number of years as did my father ( probably illustrating a genetic involvement). The most common cause, particularly at nighttime, is a problem or degeneration of the sphincter muscle at the top of the stomach which allows gastric juices to seep into the base of the oesophagus. This is much more common than food intolerence or infection in older people. The chest pain can be very similar to angina and ischaemic heart attack and the potential to confuse the two can be fatal - as was the case with my father. He believed that his pain was reflux when in fact he was having a heart attack. By the time it was found to be his heart, the damage was done and he went into cardiac arrest.
Omeprazole has been a godsend to me ( monitored by my GP) in making me able to control my reflux, particularly at night. Please do not 'ditch' potentially lifesaving drugs but try to understand their uses and how they work for you with your own body.
Proton Pump inhibitors such as Omeprazole have revolutionised gastric medicine and is on the WHO list of essential medicines.
