English cuts of meat

Postby Alcala Barry » Sun Nov 26, 2017 8:36 pm

Unfortunately our local butcher in Alcalá La Real has sadly passed away.

In recent years we have bought legs of lamb or similar from them for Christmas and other special ocassions.
Does anyone know of another butcher in this general area (or Granada) that deals in English cuts of meat?

Regards

Barry

Spanish legs of lamb are cut exactly the same way as an English butcher would do it. It’s beef cuts that can be very different.

We used to show the butcher in Huetor Tajar a picture of the joint we wanted . Worked well until he closed. We have some success with Garcia (on the white lady roundabout ) on entrance to Loja coming from Granada BUT you have to give them notice. Might be two trips. Although they turn over quite a bit of meat especially pork, it might be they only process sides of beef one day a week.
