Aunt Bessies
Aunt Bessies
I'm having trouble with my energy saving Spanish cooker.
[It's energy saving because it takes all day to cook a chicken.]
With this luke-warm oven, I have no chance of serving my legendary Yorkshire puds. So Having been totally humiliated, I'm now on the lookout for good old Aunt Bessie's frozen puds or anything that comes close.

There is a tin..that the Spanish use to make cakes.. like madelenas... on the hob...looks like a tin do-nut (with a hole in the middle)..I would think that you could make a pud in one..you can get them in ferreterias....worth a try if you cant find old Aunt Bessie's
No muerdes la mano que te da de comer.
Thanks Moving Soon
But your about two hours away and I think Aunt Bessie's would be defrosted by the time I got home.
Alcaudete is about an hour inland from Granada Airport.
Strait up the N432 until you hit the town. Great place with no English bars or shops. Nearest large town is Jaen.

You can also get them in Arkwrights in Puente Don Manuel, up near the embalse Vinuela.
I am going to patronise them when I can, simply because the name of the shop is so clever, and they are currently advertising Xmas candles - 1 for 50 cents, Fork Handles €1.50.........

toddcl - you reminded me of a question in a quiz on a cruise many years ago - "I can buy two for a dollar, twelve for two dollars, and three hundred and twenty for three dollars - what am I buying?

We have just put in a very large corner log burning stove that has bars that you put in to cook on. I'm toying with bread making as the local 'fresh' bread has already broke my denture.
But alas you have to cook on embers so I don't think it will do for yorkies.
