Christmas present ideas please...

Postby Marina » Sun Dec 06, 2009 4:54 pm

I'm tearing my hair out trying to come up with gift ideas for my two sons, 19 and 21 years.

They are both students so will be given some much needed money each but I need some stocking fillers for them. Nothing heavy as it has to travel back with them. Not clothes as they won't like anything I choose! They don't smoke. They download films and music, so no point in buying CDs or DVDs.

At the moment I have chocolate, books and an internet dongle for use when travelling, but that's just not enough to fill a stocking.

I did love those days when a trip to Toys r Us provided more than enough ideas.

Girls are so much easier!

Hi Marina, this year I've bought a few "20 Q" by Radica. It's a small, hand held gizmo that "can read your mind" It's a bit like the old tv prog, animal, vegetable or mineral. I tried it out and was quite impressed when it guessed Meercat correctly. I googled for suppliers.

If they are travelling to and fro how about crossword books, passport cover, a little black book, mini travel bottles, facial wipes, travel toothbrush, mini deodorants etc .......... as you say, girls are easier :)

Thanks. I've just had a quick look at that on Amazon and it looks ideal! I think they've still got plenty of toiletries left from last Christmas though!

That will make a lovely birthday gift for my daughter who is working in Korea on a years contract. :D
It's too late to send one for Christmas as parcels are taking months to arrive, but hopefully it should reach her by March.

Thanks.

Nice idea, but I don't think they would be very impressed. Sorry.

Marina, I forgot to add that nearly all the young men here are wearing skinny, often striped scarves and 'beanie' woolly hats 8)
PS. I tried one of the gizmos last night ........... I thought of yeast and it came up with Veggiemite..... not a bad guess eh?

This thread is 7 years old, spanishlad. Marina may be looking for ideas for presents for her (considerably older) sons this year, though!

The Double Buggy post has had more post in 2016 than when the question was originally posted.
