Thanks for the warning.
I just hope they only close the N340 from Rincon de la Victoria whilst the race actually happens along that road..

It is usually (and unusually for Spain!) remarkably efficiently run. The road closures are for the minimum time necessary, except in the areas of starts, finishes and rest sites. The Vuelta is not in the same league as the Tour de France or even the Vuelta de España, so the road closing group and the support vehicles are soon past. Last one that passed here the Trafico guys on motorcycles knew where the hazardous surfaces were, and appeared just before the riders, flagged them to avoid eg a pothole, then shot past them all to go to the next point. Times can get longer later in the race as stragglers stretch the race.

I hope that is the case as I have an appointment at Clinica Rincon which can only got got to via the N340.

A folding chair, a flask of home-made leek & potato soup and a camera.....you should be able to be in position A to rest and recover from being poked and prodded!

Once they have passed the road is back open in ten minutes. Closed around 20 minutes before they are due. We watched in La Cala Del Moral 2 years ago and the police were super organised.
