Golf course suited to novices

Postby casaalba » Wed Oct 18, 2017 1:59 pm

Can anyone suggest a course in the Coin/Alahurin area suitable for beginners, something not too hilly but a bit of a test.

Lauro Golf is not as taxing as Alhaurin golf which has a lot more hills according to my golfing guests.

Alhaurin is great fun and I played it as a novice. Its relaxed and so rarely felt under pressure. It is hilly but this doesn't matter with the golf carts. I never played it when it has been overly busy.

Alhaurin is probably one of the most steepest courses in Andalucia. Buggy absolutely essential, unless under 40 :D Take lots of balls as you will lose plenty.

For a Novice I would recommend Mijas golf. Nice easy course.

Lauro Golf is a 27 hole course and I know quite a few novices who have stayed at our holiday complex and have said they enjoyed playing there. I live next door to it and have no affiliation whatsoever.
I think you will find that it is suitable for the requirements you asked for in the opening post and it is quite close to the area you have chosen, 6 minutes drive from Alhaurin el Grande and on the outskirts of ALHAURIN DE LA tORRE and an easy drive to the course.

Both courses are fairly flat. I have only played at Los Olivos. Not much of a golfer though, more a social one :) OH is more serious and he prefers Los Lagos which is longer.

The Parador near the airport has a fairly flat, easy course, but watch out for other players balls as the fairways are close together in some parts.
The other course, a bit more intersting but still fairly level, is Guadalahorche, the one you fly over sometimes when flying into Malaga.
