Hello
Can anyone give me any information about road cycling in and around Nerja? Any good routes, good cafe stops or any other information would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Re: cycling in and around Nerja
Its quite hilly around Nerja. If you want flat head south towards Malaga along the old coast road. Heading east you have some nice villages and towns like La Herradura and Almunecar. A bit of a task if your not super fit.
Another nice ride would be up in to Frigiliana then onto Acebuchal (The lost Village). Stop for lunch and ride back. I have walked this but not biked it.

Hi sands,
Have a look a sites similar to the following.............
https://www.bikemap.net/en/l/2513240/
If you're bringing your own road bike over a 32 rear sprocket ( with compact chain set) would make the climbs more enjoyable.
Going from my rides inland, any village Bars will be good for a "cafe" stop

thanks for your helpful replies
we are bringing our own road bikes and they do have compact chain sets and 32 rear sprockets, we live on the edge of Dartmoor and are used to hills but those in Andalucia may well be worse than we have at home.

Hi sands,
You should find the climbs not so step as Dartmoor .......but longer .
If you do a Strava climbing challenge you can easily gain the elevation in the Nerja area.
Note:: Cycle helmets are compulsory in Spain.
