menu del dia

Postby Scot » Sun Apr 05, 2009 8:41 pm

Local restaurant in Chilches costa next to Mercadona - every Friday menu del dia, 3 courses including bread and drink - 3 euros  My friends have gone last few weeks, choice of food too and all home made.

Did any watch Come dine with me on tv last night? Well, I'm not going to "big up" the 3 euro menu so here's how it was told to me:

Homemade soup with fresh veg and meat (or was that meat and 2 veg  )

Choice of pork chop or fish with chips/salad

Homemade natilla or rice pudding

Bread

Bottle of Coke

My friends said it was full - as were they at the end of it

i work in a bar ,sorry, restaurant as many like to call it(well ex pats) just call it "menu of the day", i hate spanglish idiots, ie: i´ll have a cervasa por favor, what is that all about? do you really think a spaniard walks into a now popular "tapas bar" in london and orders in english to the other spaniard behind the bar, i think not! if you want to practice spanish do to a spaniard, NOT ME!!!

If a barman in Spain wants to be addressed in a foriegn language (e.g. English) he should wear a big badge with a Union Jack and the slogan "I'm too thick to speak Spanish!"
