What not to do

Programme that may be of interest

Selling Houses Abroad 20/03/2007 8:00pm - 9:00pm Channel 4

The three couples featured in this film seem reasonably intelligent, sane people. Yet they each managed to buy a property in France or Spain that has been such a disaster that they could lose tens of thousands of pounds. Stuart and Penny bought a "cave house" that's now falling down the cliff, while Pauline and Steve (an estate agent back in Britain) didn't check on their off-plan villa and now own a tatty home sited next to a major road in what looks like a war zone. But it's Tony and Rose's Pyrenean property that takes up most of the film. He bought it after a boozy lunch. She hates it - and no wonder. Its lurid 1970s-style interior is like a set on Life on Mars. What on earth was he drinking?

I want to know how the young 'bit of stuff' of an estate agent managed to flog such a savvy lawyer type that pile of junk!....then suggests he takes £20k off the price to offload it again! :D Didnt he say he'd been out for a 'drink' with her first???

He could not have been that savvy mixter as he suggested all his spare capital was invested in the house. That is he had not been ripping off clients for years !
