How many cats
I have read somewhere that it is only possible to bring two pets into spain when moving out. Is this correct?
What experiences have people had with such an import?

Living in the south west and moving to Andalucia in six weeks time
I asked a friend who works for Defra Uk, if there are any restrictions in place regarding the movement of cats into Europe, and was informed that they would be unlikely to query up to 6 , after that they would probably want to know if you were moving them for commercial means..In other words if you are bringing a 'truck load', they would want to know why ...

That´s because rabies is endemic in mainland Europe while the UK and Ireland are free from it. I guess it therefore makes sense to exercise entry controls on animals that can carry rabies to maintain this situation.t is only the Brits who have strange laws about Rabies which creates the need for pet passports etc when returning to the UK.
We brought over 3 cats to Spain just over 12 months ago. Monarch Airlines had a restriction of a maximum of 6 animals to be carried on any one flight (may be due to the size of the animal hold)
Although quite a traumatic experience for them at the English side, we got them off the plane and through customs with no problems at all.
We now have 3 very happy cats, who love their life here!!

The map of world areas free from Rabies is interesting.
If you go into the Google search engine and enter "rabies" you will find a lot of information but this link is as good as any-Rabies, where can I find info about it?
