We are about to start purchase of a home near Competa - can anyone recommend a good lawyer (or those to avoid); ideally based on their own experience. Thanks. Peter & Helen

If you avoid all the dodgy ones then you'll only be left with about two so avoid anyone who professes to be a lawyer, instead you should employ a "Gestor" who will. (a) probably know the law regarding property better anyway. (b) Work much harder on your behalf anyway. (c) probably work for an hourly or fixed rate, you can negotiate. and (d) will almost certainly NOT rip you off, I try to keep a safe distance between myself and any Spanish lawyer!
