What I do, and the filters make this possible otherwise you'd have to use some kind of pump to flush the boiler. So when I change the carbon filter, which is the last one in the chain before I fit the new filter I fill the bowl with Descal. Then with a hot tap open I turn the pump back on. This forces the descal through the boiler. As soon as coloured water comes out of the tap I turn it off and leave it for half an hour to dissolve any cal in the pipes. Flush it through afterwards and fit the new carbon filter. Hey presto one internally cleaned boiler. I do this every 3 months or so and our boiler is still working perfectly after nearly 10 years.
