We have seen a nice house in the campo near Competa but no pool. I presume no approval for a below ground is possible but what are our option... advice would be great. There is village water and 1300 litre water storage.

Good advice. Competa Town Hall building department is really helpful (I have found) and speak English.
Water shortages in Competa have become particularly acute, and I believe there is an on-going ban on pool filling, car washing, irrigation, etc. A taste of what's to come elsewhere, unless the thirsty fruit-growing bonanza remains unchecked.
