Not sure if it's the same, but my husband used Perlita - which he says is the equivalent to Thistle. And available at any builders merchant.

so can you honestly say that you only use Spanish products ? get real!!!

perlita is about as near as you will get to a carlite finish or thistle, if you are putting it on thick to even out a bad wall use perlita extra then rule it off and then set the wall with regular perlita. If walls are terracotta soak them first.
