Malware on A.Com?

Postby IreneD » Thu Apr 19, 2012 11:43 am

My laptop won't let me visit A.Com - it says the site has malware and it has advised the owners. I'm on my phone atm - hope it doesn't get infected (is that possible?) Anyway, I'll try again later :)

I clicked on this site and got the following message ...
www.andalucia.com contains content from esp.andalucia.com, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site.
Google has found malicious software may be installed onto your computer if you proceed. If you've visited this site in the past or you trust this site, it's possible that it has just recently been compromised by a hacker. You should not proceed, and perhaps try again tomorrow or go somewhere else.
We have already notified esp.andalucia.com that we found malware on the site. For more about the problems found on esp.andalucia.com, visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page.

I have been getting warnings from Google Chrome about malware.

I have contacted the site owners and there was a problem on part of the site (not the forum) and it has now been fixed.

Been iffy all week but this morning it's particularly bad. Slow loading, at times it posts the replies yet it stays on the reply saying 'connecting'. I'm surprised that there are not far more doubl posts !

It seems to me that this warning only comes up if I use the Chrome browser and it is Google that is giving the warning - IE goes straight in and, like Annfoto, McAfee admits there ain't a problem!

It only happens when I use Chrome. FF and IE are OK.

Seems that maybe it's not fixed. Chrome still bringing up the warning this afternoon:-

Warning: Something's Not Right Here!
www.andalucia.com contains content from esp.andalucia.com, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site.
Google has found that malicious software may be installed onto your computer if you proceed. If you've visited this site in the past or you trust this site, it's possible that it has just recently been compromised by a hacker. You should not proceed. Why not try again tomorrow or go somewhere else?
We have already notified esp.andalucia.com that we found malware on the site. For more about the problems found on esp.andalucia.com, visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page.

If you understand that visiting this site may harm your computer, proceed anyway.

Help improve detection of malware by sending additional data to Google about sites on which you see this warning. This data will be handled in accordance with the Safe Browsing privacy policies.

It's fixed. The Google warning is still there as until they remove it, it stays there - it's isn't magically doing a virus check.

The fact that there was a potential problem shows how good Google Chrome is at protecting computer users.
I have not been on for 2 days because of the warning.
I have a lot of confidence in Google products.
