Internet deals
Internet deals
Not very happy with my ISP at the moment for the 3rd or 4th time the customer services have proved less than helpful. To be honest the connection has always been pretty good and tv reception has been good also but I feel they are taking the Micky. I'm thinking of changing, possibly going back to Telefonica are they offering any good deals at the moment anyone.

See my recent post "in praise of Movistar" - viewtopic.php?f=35&t=33213 their Fusion package @ €42 per month gives a new phone line, broadband, mobile and TV package.
By inference you already have a phone line, so from memory you can get a cheaper deal than this. take a look at their website - which can also be found in English by googling "Movistar in English".

Re: Internet deals
Having an existing line does not affect the Fusion offer. If you already have one they just change your contract.

Re: Internet deals
Neither the Movistar (Telefonica) in English nor Movifresh websites are anything to do with the real Telefonica/Movistar and are best avoided.

Yes, so was I. The telefonicainenglish.com site is nothing to do with the real Telefonica Movistar.

Re: Internet deals
... strange, the lady in the Movistar shop recognised my printout that I brought from the UK of the English site - oh and my printout of the Spanish one.
We may need to agree to disagree

I think you are missing the point.
The "telefonicainenglish.com site" is NOT part of Telefonica/ Movistar.
They are an independent site who take your money, probably an inflated amount, and arrange the contract/deal with Telefonica/ Movistar.
I could set up a website and do the same and profit from people who believe they are dealing with the genuine site but in English.
It would be interesting to know if they would give you your money back if they failed to organise the contact/ deal with Telefonica/ Movistar.
The lady in the Movistar shop was probably smiling to herself thinking " here's another mug who has fallen for this"
Cheers

Gerry
This forum alerted me to fake Telefonica/Movistar sites before I had the need to order a landline and internet services for our house in Spain.
I responded to the enquiry from mhic in good faith, offering my recent experience - from previous visits I had checked out deals in Movistar shops and online so was pretty sure what I was getting into.
It was impractical for me to order online (as it seems it is for Grittomum in another thread) and I went into the Movistar shop in El Ingenio Torre del Mar and ordered my Fusion service there at a price of €42 incl IVA - which I think Sid had mentioned sometime before is the price he pays.
It's hard sometimes on this forum to try to give recent (30 June) actual practical advice/experience to others; on the other hand members have been very helpful to me either by answering questions that I have posted or simply by me reading other posts.
Let's draw a line under this one.
My original response to mhic still stands - but I withdraw the suggestions to check online, which is what I had to do from the UK before coming here at the end of June and my advice to mhic is to go to a Movistar shop and ask what deals they have.

Hi Zanuck
Sorry if I sounded a bit harsh, had a bad few days.
In all fairness most of the telephone shops, Movistar, Vodafone etc. are franchises aren't aren't actually part of Movistar, Vodafone etc.
Cheers

Me, gone expensive, they say for the moment, works perfectly, touching wood.
Re: Internet deals
Kexon - if you search the forum there are a few threads about BB4S. We (and most of our neighbours) are with them. They've just increased their price from 29 to 42 euros, but it's working well. Speed is consistently just below 6Mb, which is good enough for one of us to watch TV and the other to surf. It even managed to keep going when the world cup final was on. Do they reach as far as you?

I thought someone previously said that they be were not taking new subscribers until they had increased their capacity?
