Annoying repetitive phonecall

Postby oliveview01 » Fri Jul 15, 2016 11:09 am

Has anyone had annoying calls from the number 956632173. We are getting several a day, when we answer there is only a beep beep sound of a hang up. I rang telefonica/Movistar they wanted 2€ a month to block the number   said not to bother!

This is an insurance company called Santa Lucia SA.

I have a call blocker. It has hundreds of numbers pre programmed and you can add any others that bother you:

Thanks Beachcomber and Enrique for your replies. We have an insurance policy with Santa Lucia , we will be going into their office on Monday! It would not be so bad if someone actually spoke, we just get the hang up tone! I could do what my sister does to nuisance calls, sing to them!

I think this happens because the calls are made by a robot and if the robot gets an answer but there is no operator to take it silence ensues. If you held on for long enough you would probably be connected to a real person.

If the nuisance calls are coming through to your home phone, and you use DECT (cordless) phones, many of these have a facility for blocking unwanted numbers. Check your user booklet or phone menu.
